Workshop Title: “Total Organization”

Who should attend?

This workshop is for users who deal with a great deal of information in a variety of electronic and paper formats and want to get a good handle on it and free up their energy for important and strategic activities. It is also for those who are in need of organizing their workspace to create an environment that is conducive to creativity and productivity. The workshop is designed for both the “visionary” who is interested in the organizational concepts and their implications and the “implementer” who is interested in the step by step methodology to achieve optimum organization.

This is a platform independent workshop. It works for you irrelevant of the exact e-mail application or computer system or workspace elements you are using. You can apply the concepts and implementation plans easily to your environment.

This workshop complements the other workshops and can be taken before or after. It is usually recommended that you take one of the e-mail management workshops within the same one or two months so you can add more depth to your organization and have the knowledge you need to fully implement it in your e-mail communication.

What we will cover and the benefits?

In this session, we focus on three important areas of organization: Organizing your e-mail, organizing your computer files, and organizing your papers and physical workspace. With today’s information overload, it is becoming increasingly challenging to get organized and to stay organized. Significant time and energy are spent looking for information. Tasks get postponed because it is not easy to find necessary information. Most importantly, our minds are constantly preoccupied-worried about missing important information and critical deadlines.

We will show you a realistic and practical approach for “total organization” which will result in “liberating your energy” so you can redirect it to the core activities that are going to make you and your organization successful. We start with the ToolsMap™; an innovative approach in which you examine your current environment, both online and paper, such as e-mail, calendar, to-do lists, filing folders, and the like. Then we present a number of organizational methodologies for e-mail, computer files, papers, and physical workspace. And then we explore applying these techniques to your ToolsMap™ to create your new “totally organized” environment that works best for you.

Workshop Title: “Time Management in the Information Age”

Who should attend?

This workshop is for users who deal with a large number of tasks, calendar appointments, e-mails, meetings, and competing priorities, and therefore want to have better control of their time as well as optimize their workflow to achieve the desired results. The workshop presents strategic concepts and implementation best-practices to enable today's professionals to thrive in the midst of today's unprecedented information overload. You will leave this workshop with a "time management" action plan that is personalized for your own needs and your working style.

This is a "platform" independent workshop. It can help you irrelevant of the time management tools and practices you are using today. It enables you to take an in-depth look at these tools and practices, assess them, and systematically make significant adjustments. In addition it provides you with new and innovative techniques and best-practices that you can start implementing immediately.

This workshop complements the other productivity workshops offered by People-OnTheGo (such as the "Total Organization" workshop and the "Managing Your E-mail Inbox" workshop) and can be taken before or after the other workshops. If possible, it is usually recommended that you take these workshops within the same one to three-month period, so you can fully leverage the insights and techniques covered in your organization and time management effort.

What we will cover and the benefits?

Today's time management demands are different from those addressed in the traditional time management techniques we have seen over the years. What is different about today is the simple fact that we are dealing with 10 or even 100 times the amount of information that we used to deal with even 5 or 10 years ago. This high volume of information, and the ability to instantly access and communicate information throughout the globe, created a new perspective on time and new expectations around response time. So how should you "adapt" and "respond" to these changes?

This workshop provides you with the insights and techniques you need to adapt and respond to today's time management demands. It focuses on three important areas of time management including: To-do list management, workflow, and the tools used in this process. We start with assessing the current practices that the seminar participants use today and reviewing the challenges involved when it comes to managing time and priorities Then the new concepts are presented, coupled with hands-on exercises to help each participant get real insights into how these concepts can be applied to his/her unique situation. As a result of the discussions and interactive exercises, an action plan is formulated in which participants identify specific changes to their to-do list management, their workflow, and the tools they use in this process. Participants walk away with some immediate actions and a sense of relief about their ability to better manage their time and achieve their performance goals.

What you will learn as a result?

How to better manage your to-do list(s)
How to optimize your workflow to achieve the desired results
How to improve your tools to serve you better
Valuable insights and techniques for your projects and collaboration effort
How to think strategically for optimum performance
