Maintaining an online identity is a de facto standard for many professionals. Employers are using involvement in social network sites including Linked In™ and Facebook™, blogging, and a professional’s overall web presence or absence to make evaluation, promotion, hiring, and termination decisions. So what are the payoffs and tradeoffs associated online information? How do you successfully manage an online professional identity without giving up more time, information, or privacy than you would like? Should you have more than one online identity? If so, how do you manage them all? Building on new research suggesting that some of the common strategies and advice for managing online information might be flawed or incomplete, this webinar provides conceptual understanding, practical strategies, and insight into some of the behind-the-scenes issues of online identity and impression management.
