Google Wave is an online software application product from Google, which Google described as "a new web application for real-time communication and collaboration." It is a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking. It has a strong collaborative and real-time focus supported by a rich set of extensions. Initially, it was released only to developers, most recently (May 2010), Google Wave was released to the general public. So what this mean to you? And how does Google Wave compare with Email as we know it today? And will it change the future of communication and collaboration?
In this session, Jay Cuthrell, strategic technology consultant with Cuthrell Consulting, LLC and frequent industry speaker based in Research Triangle Park, NC and Missoula, MT, will be provide his insights and demonstrate Google Wave applications in the workplace comparing and contrasting them to traditional e-mail.
