It's no secret that meaningful work combined with economic success is a universal aspiration. Yet, studies suggest that where one lives geographically is, equally, if not more important, than one's work in terms of a meaningful, happy life. In this interactive session, career strategist Michael Scott will share his personal insights on the importance of aligning place with career. In it you will learn valuable information on geographic locales that offer a unique balance between robust employment growth and abundant lifestyle amenities. He will also discuss the five C's of climate, culture, community, convenience, and charm used for his own family relocation from Sacramento to Denver.
Three years ago Club One entered the virtual world environment to change how they do business. Particularly in these challenging times, you must communicate effectively in writing if you want your words to capture the interest and attention of prospective funders and other stakeholders, both online and offline. Effective writing is clear, concise, and engaging -- and prompts your readers’ critical thinking and action. It also leaves them wanting more. But how can you make sure that your words “land” as you intend? Wouldn’t you like some strategic tools to help you write more efficiently, creatively, and confidently?
Implementing new systems or upgrading existing ones, getting ready for a major change in the business, setting realistic expectations or establishing and communicating values are just a few of the challenges facing managers who are involved in such initiatives. Effective change management strategy and execution will mitigate the risk inherited in new technology implementations and create the sustainable change that is required to compete in today’s marketplace.

Maintaining an online identity is a de facto standard for many professionals. Employers are using involvement in social network sites including Linked In™ and Facebook™, blogging, and a professional’s overall web presence or absence to make evaluation, promotion, hiring, and termination decisions. So what are the payoffs and tradeoffs associated online information? How do you successfully manage an online professional identity without giving up more time, information, or privacy than you would like? Should you have more than one online identity? If so, how do you manage them all? Building on new research suggesting that some of the common strategies and advice for managing online information might be flawed or incomplete, this webinar provides conceptual understanding, practical strategies, and insight into some of the behind-the-scenes issues of online identity and impression management.
Your brand is a clear expression in words and stories about the value you uniquely bring in knowledge, experience and character traits. It keeps you from “wandering off” when discussing your background. A personal brand gives you a framework to answer the question, "Why should we hire you?" It provides a consistent thread to use for all the times you will need to talk or write about yourself – in a resume, cover letter, performance review, interview or professional networking site profile.
